Step into the heart of Chinatown for an immersive journey through Cantonese cuisine, culture, and the evolving story of sustainable seafood in Singapore.

Start at the vibrant Chinatown Complex wet market, a bustling hub deeply rooted in the Cantonese community. Wander through rows of glistening live seafood, from groupers to freshwater fish, before being drawn in by the unmistakable aromas of dried seafood stalls, where traditional ingredients for nourishing Cantonese soups are carefully selected and sold.

Next, make your way to Hong Lim Complex for an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience with Debbie, a fourth-generation hawker from Tang Kay Kee Fish Head Bee Hoon. Here, you will gain rare insight into the art of Cantonese style “tze char”, passed down through generations.

The experience culminates in a delicious, thoughtfully prepared lunch featuring snakehead fish. Along the way, you will uncover the stories behind beloved local fish dishes and gain a deeper understanding of seafood sustainability in Singapore today.

This journey brings together the best of both worlds, exploring fresh and dried produce at Chinatown Complex before diving into hawker heritage at Hong Lim Complex, complete with a hearty meal and personal stories from a fourth-generation culinary tradition.

*Exact meeting information will be sent after confirmation of the tours.

*Children age 3 and above need to register for the event.
