In support of Go Green SG 2025 and to celebrate HP Inc’s 55th anniversary in Singapore, the company brought together employees and seniors from Sunlove Active Ageing Centre for a meaningful day of tree planting and community bonding at City Sprouts (West Coast).

Greening the City, Growing Communities

City Sprouts facilitators guided both HP Inc staff and seniors through the tree planting process. While the HP Inc staff handled the more strenuous tasks like digging the holes, positioning the trees carefully in place, and filling the holes with
soil, the seniors enthusiastically took part in composting, watering, and tagging the newly-planted trees.

Together, both HP Inc staff and Sunlove seniors planted a total of 16 trees, contributing to HP Inc’s “Trees for Tomorrow” project. This project is HP Inc’s commitment to planting 55 trees in 2025, one for each year the company has called

Singapore home.

Teamwork and Purpose in Action

Mr Koh Kong Meng, Managing Director of HP Southeast Asia and Singapore, shared, “The collective spirit of sustainability drives us, not just at HP’s company level, but through the actions of each and every employee. Every small effort matters.”

For many staff, the highlight wasn’t just planting trees. It was the shared laughter, teamwork, and friendships formed through hands-on collaboration. One of the staff, Mr Jimmy Yeap, expressed, “What’s more meaningful is doing it alongside the seniors. This is about building a greener future together.”

Building a Legacy Beyond Trees

One of the most meaningful parts of the day unfolded in the most unexpected way. As a sudden downpour sent the group indoors, it did not dampen spirits. Instead, the group used the time to craft friendship bracelets using banana bark.

What started as an environmental initiative became something more personal, as seniors and volunteers bonded over the simple joy of crafting.

“We saw the joy in both the Sunlove seniors and our HP staff as they connected with nature and each other,” Ms Belinda Chan, Senior Programme Manager from HP Inc, shared. “These small, joyful moments are what truly inspire long-term
change.”
