This interactive session brings together chefs and community partners to explore how everyday food and ingredients can help us stay cool in a warming climate.
Through live demonstrations and shared dialogue, chefs will experiment with and reimagine simple dishes and drinks using cooling ingredients such as barley, herbal infusions, and traditional remedies, with a focus on making them accessible for vulnerable groups.
Participants can learn practical, culturally rooted ways to stay cool through food, while engaging directly with chefs who will exchange ideas and approaches across different traditions. The session is designed to translate culinary knowledge into everyday habits that can support comfort and well-being during periods of heat.
By the end of the session, participants can look forward to learning how to prepare simple cooling drinks and foods, gaining insights into how diet can support climate resilience, and contributing ideas that will be featured in the COOL Project exhibition panels.
The COOL Geylang Project operationalises climate resilient development at the neighbourhood level by combining community spaces, behavioural adaptation, and local knowledge into a practical, scalable model.
