This interactive workshop brings together community members, partners, and university students to explore how we can stay comfortable and resilient in changing weather conditions, particularly heat and heavy rain, in Geylang.

Participants will work together to map real on-ground experiences, identifying hot spots, rain-prone areas, ventilation challenges, and existing cooling or shelter spaces within the neighbourhood. The session will contribute to a live Geylang climate adaptation case study, highlighting practical ways communities can respond to everyday climate challenges.

Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how climate impacts daily life in urban environments, and how simple, community-led solutions can make a difference. This is also an opportunity to collaborate with like-minded individuals and contribute to a meaningful, ground-up initiative.

By the end of the session, participants can look forward to contributing to a neighbourhood map, learning practical cooling and shelter strategies, and gaining insights into how community spaces can support climate resilience.

The COOL Geylang Project operationalises climate resilient development at the neighbourhood level by combining community spaces, behavioural adaptation, and local knowledge into a practical, scalable model.
